Clown loach tank mates

I have kept a few clown loaches over the years but haven't had much luck with lifespan. I keep 3 in a 70g cichlid tank. They have no problems with the cichlids. I have seen many tanks where they are tank mates and they look huge. I was told long ago to dose my water changes with Epson salt for healthier fish. My loaches are very active but I struggle to get enough protein for them because the cichlids find all the hiding places and gorge themselves. So a few of the clowns over the years have looked pale and skinny. I also just recently learned clowns are very sensitive to salt... So am I ticking in the wind with trying to keep clowns? Is the salt regimen a bad idea? Any advice welcomed.

Just an FYI, this is a saltwater forum, not a freshwater forum.

Clown Loaches will eat snails. You can try getting pest snails from a pet store or from Facebook Marketplace or similar. I ran mine with African cichlids and fed cichlid pellets and tropical flakes 2-3 times daily in a 135 gallon with not a lot of issues.

I was looking around and realized this is a marine forum. I only downloaded because when I was looking for info online, I came across someone talking about freshwater setup using this app. Guess I'll just uninstall. Thanks for the feedback
