I recently got a new clownfish. I’ve had this one for about a month and a half now. It is apart of a pair that I bought locally. When I first purchased the clown it had one red spot under the chin, but it looked like an injury. I thought that it could have been apart of fighting even though I haven’t seen this pair fight. Now the fins have started to deteriorate, the spots are growing, the fish is acting more unpredictable, and they’re not acting as a pair anymore. The healthy one will check on it, but the unhealthy one sticks to one spot. I do believe this could be a disease but how would I treat it? IMG_5617.jpeg IMG_5616.jpeg IMG_5612.jpeg

with the fins shredded and mouth damaged- fighting is my suspect and I would keep a close eye on other clown, who often are on their best behavior in your presence

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I agree, the clownfish pair has broken down. You’ll need to separate them. You may be able to reintroduce them later, but perhaps not.

Is this clown still eating? If not, the damage is more serious and even prompt treatment may not save it.
