I have a female picasso clown that ive been keeping for more than a year. Shes been doing well, eat alot swim alot, very active and plump. Just the otherday when i move her to my new nems tank, i decided to put her in an acclimation box for a while so she get use to the forktail blenny that already in the tank. The day i release her from the box i notice there are few small pieces on her swimming fins and tail that missing like fin rot and on the next day her right eye turn cloudy and pop up. It grown about 0.5 times bigger, not too big but it was cloudy and blocking some of her vision. I have a friend said that i could wait to see if she heal on her own or not then i could decide to quaranteen her later. I left she in the tank with the forktail blenny for about 3-4 more days. Still eat and being active but her condition not getting any better, it turned worse. Her right eye did not grow bigger but its cloudy enough to blind her, and her left eye did turn cloudy a bit. I took her out to a seperate tank with an airstone in now. What should i do next? Ciprofloxacin? Or any other med?

Can you post a video using white light?

Shes in a temp tank. Seting up the bigger quaranten tank

She's breathing a bit hard. I see you have good aeration going, so just make certain that the ammonia level stays below 0.50 ppm.

Only one eye looks bad - to me, that looks like a strike injury. The right pectoral fin has a notch in it. I wonder if it had a fight with another fish in the tank? Since you have it in a quarantine tank, you could dose with erythromycin for the eye issue. In the US, we use Maracyn 1. I'm not sure if you have that available to you.

No she been good with the forktail in the tank. Maybe she injured when she freaked out and flashing in the box while i release her.

Whats the dosage for Erythromycin? I can get erythromycin 500mg at my nearby pharmacy right away.

Also i want to ask one more thing, not related to this post but still about fish lol. I just installed a chiller today for the tank and it got my tank from 28.8C down to 26.6C in around less than 30mins if my themometer is right cause the tank themo and the chiller themo are not showing the same number. My fishes still swiming back then, nem still puff and the donut still open. But i went out for like 4-5 hours and got back, the nem and donut still fine, the toadstool not seems to open at all and my 2 fishes went to sleep? Was it because of the temp drop and should i worry about ich and velvet?

The dose can vary. I've seen doses from 12.5 to 50 mg/l. I would use 25 mg/l.

I'm not sure what dose Maracyn 1 uses.

You calculate it like this: (tank volume in gallons) * 25 / 264 = grams of erythromycin to add. So, for a ten gallon tank, it would be around .9 grams. I would dose every other day for three treatments. Water changes as needed to maintain water quality.

A temperature drop of less than 3 degrees C. isn't going to be an issue. Temperature drops causing disease mostly applies to freshwater ich, a different parasite.

I got a small tank that hold about 5 gallons so it be .4g everyday in 3 day and change water daily right?

So the fishes just sleep because there was a change in the environment? Lol

I’m not sure what you are interpreting as “sleep”. I’m worried that what you are calling “sleep” is actually extreme lethargy due to some issue.

Only change water if the ammonia level goes above 0.5 ppm.

Ah yes maybe thats the right word to use. What can i do if they keep behaving like that?

Could it be low oxygen level? This tank doesnt have a skimmer and the chilller cut off most of the flow from pump. I do have a small powerhead in the tank pointing up to the surface but it might not be enough

If its true that the tank is low on oxygen then what option best for me? I can get a skimmer but the turnoverate is still low, can change the nozzle type to make flow a bit better or i get another seperate pump for the chiller?

When in doubt, add an air stone driven by an air pump. That breaks the surface tension of the water, driving off carbon dioxide and adding oxygen.

Ive already post another thread for that problem. You can check out it, i put more detail information about my current situation on that thread.

Sorry mb. My live stock: a forktail blenny, a saddleback hogfish, a bta, few mushroom, a toadstool, a half bleached donut and 4 turbo snails. Beside the snails. the mushrooms and the donut, all other live stock is somewhat behaving weird. The hogfish is lying on the sandbed breathing heavily, while the forktail seems petty chill and sleep all day? The nem is wandering around and expelling zooxanthelae and the toadstool is not openinng. I did a 30% wc, put in carbon and add a skimmer, all that just to see the forktail come out and swim for 2mins and back to sleep.
