Hello I have noticed my clownfish acting different and was wondering if they are getting ready to spawn,
I have had them for about 1 year now and they changes colors about 6 months after I got them 20200319_182951.jpg 20190603_171201.jpg 20190603_171156.jpg 20190204_094142.jpg

It looks like spawning activity. Was the fish wiggling around the rock the smaller one and the bigger one in the anemone?

My male would make those movements over the eggs after they were laid.

He is picking at the live rock right under the torch and wiggling over that spot and also the female has been wiggling and shaking all over the torch and under the heads of the torch, have not seen her picking at the live rock thought

It sounds like they might be practicing and they could spawn soon or it could be quite some time yet. Worth keeping on eye on but it isn't a sure sign of seeing eggs.

I will be keeping my eye on them, if they do spawn what is the likelihood of any of the fry surviving with me doing nothing

No pro here but probably a ZERO chance.

Mine have the little bright orange eggs all the time and I just leave them be.
It seems the male keeps a watch over them and picks the bad ones away little by little til there's none left.

They all disappear and then it repeats itself. Never kept track how often I see a fresh set but it seems quite often.

I just got those frisky kids a new anemone....so maybe I'll put a candle next to their tank when lights go low tonight and set the mood for them and see what I find tomorrow morning. As they are about due for another round. :)

Extremely unlikely that any of the fry will survive. The positive news is that it is a good sign that your fish are healthy and happy! :)

Here’s their new home and “Big Mama” checking it out first.
Was funny as the male didn’t partake for a day and kept in a “neutral corner” it seems til he received an invite.
