Hello, unfortunately my male clown took a carpet dive, I have purchased a new clown which is currently in quarantine. My female is still in the display. The new clown is around 2 inches long, where the female is almost full grown. I’m worried that the smaller clown will mature into a female during my 21 day quarantine period. Should I be adding the female into the quarantine tank to make sure this doesn’t happen? (Medicated quarantine, so I know it will be hard on the fish and would rather leave her in the tank).

I wouldn't, I believe they only turn female when they pair up and decide who is going to be female.

Are you sure it wasn't previously paired? As once a female they stay female, they don't go back to male.

Oh and get a cover if you haven't already.
