alright that sounds like a good stocking plan. Also how many gph should I am for with only softies. As of right now with a hob and powerhead ill have only 130gph. Is that enough?One last thing...Should I go barebottom or shallowsand bed?

Depends on type of snails you get. Some are sand dwelling. Honestly, if you are going with softies and maybe green star polyp or xenia, I would go bare bottom and let that fill in as a grass looking bed. Less issues with no sand in a small tank.

Flow will need maybe 20x turnover. So looking at maybe 140gph. Should be fine to start. If adding corals and things just look still, add some more flow. I use the nano power heads and they do well in my 6g.

My clownfish love pulsing xenia and it has had no problem taking the beating they give it.

Funny you should say that, my LFS has one in a sump with a lot of xenia and he is happy as a clam (no pun intended)! :)

Would a pair be too much of a bioload. I want to keep the bioload low hopefully so I was just planning on the clown, a shrimp, hermits, maybe a snail, and possibly an emerald crab or pompom havent decided yet. The light I have isnt really strong enough for anything but softies. Its going to have zoas, mushrooms, hopefully a lot of anthelia(could it possibly host this?) and maybe a leather or something. I plan to only have carbon and maybe biomatrix in a hob. How many gph should I be aiming for?I have a powerhead thats rated 185 gph and an aquaclear 20. Would that be enough flow?

Also the tank is only going to have about 4 pounds of liverock thats why I figured I should use biomatrix.

I would suggest just starting with one clown fish for now or adding less inverts.You may want to choose between having snails or having hermits.Hermits can be aggressive towards snails when searching for food or shells.Also the cleaner shrimp will be more sensitive to water fluctuations than the other animals.
Keep in mind the final size of a Kenya tree before adding it to your tank.It would be very likely to out compete everything for light.

It sounds like you will have enough flow.I am not familiar with the biomatrix product but using activated carbon is a good idea.Other than that fit in as much liverock as you can.Maybe you could squeeze some tiny pieces into the HOB. Be prepared to do regular water testing and changes then you should be golden.Best of luck!
