Can i put a pair of black ocellaris clownfish in a 20 gallon tank and still get another fish or two?

The damsel was small... Probably about 2 inches max. I sold the Damsel with the (20) gallon tank.

i have looked into them a couple of weeks ago and everything said they need a 30+ gallon tank. but if it worked for you then i will try it out

In my 20gal I plan to have a pair of mocha clowns, a watchman goby and pistol shrimp pair and a harlequin shrimp, Everyone I run that stock list by said I should be good to go. I will let you know if that isn't the case. lol

I also heard that a Royal Gramma requires a (30) gallon tank... I never had (1) issue with my (20) gallon tank. I performed weekly water changes, had an oversized filtration (rated for (50) gallons and a BioCube Protein Skimmer. It was an awesome looking tank!

i have a filter for a 30 gallon on my 20 and i get a lot of water flow. i was looking at the different kinds of clownfish and i saw the phantom clownfish. anybody know anything about them?

did you have to let your tank mature for a while before you added corals?

I personally wouldn't put more than one other fish in with them.

I let my water cycle for a week and then took a sample to my Local Fish Store to get tested. They gave me the thumbs up and thats when I bought my (2) Clown's and (1) Zoanthid Frag. Started off when a hardy coral. Once I knew the Zoanthid was alive and good I started adding Mushrooms and Ricordeas. They were colorful and inexpensive. After doing research, I really didn't want any corals that were aggressive and like to take over you tank. I sold most of my Mushroom corals and Ricordeas with the (2) gallon tank.

There are damsels, and there are damsels. A domino or sergeant-major would wreak havoc in there, but a yellowtail or azure damsel might be OK.

^The genus Chrysiptera has some smaller, well behaved damsels.

There are a few options to get a few other fish with the clowns. A watchman goby/pistol shrimp pr, yellow assessor, royal gramma, stigmatura blenny, firefish, clown goby, neon goby, a small group of barnacle blennies, a wetmoralla or pink strea wrasse.

I have a 20 long thats been up for about a year and a half. I have a lawnmower blenny, firefish and my two ocellaris clowns. I added the clowns last. In 3 to 4 years you might need to upgrade.
