Yup. Weird lil fish. Mine took the Duncan as a host, then the torch. They hang out in my wrasses sand cup most of the time. Everything but the 4 BTA I have. Ha. So I may be changing it up, got a Dark Pheonix pair and got them to take a BTA as a host within 30 or so minutes.

Def a ton of “strange” behaviors. They do the shimmy-shake, which I call their dance moves. They attack just about anything that gets near (and by near I mean on the other side of the tank) their nem, but it’s all a farce as they immediately swim back to the nem if anything stands up to them. But the strangest behavior I’ve seen is that they LOVE algae. They will fight off the blenny, angel, and tang to get to the clip until they’re full, then let the others have at it.

My tailspot slept with the clown in my tank. He'd even wrap his tail over the clown. Very bonded friends.

Mine sleep in the back corner on the sand ...is that normal? They also don’t seem interested in the bubble tip I got them... so sad. Tips?? Tricks?? Should I show them pictures of other clowns hosting anemones?

It can be normal. And it can take a while for clowns to take interest in a nem, sometimes months. (Sometimes never, too.)
People have tried various ways to 'encourage' a clown to accept a certain nem, but I wouldn't recommend them;
just let it happen if and when it's going to happen.

My two Gold Nugget clowns were hosting my overflow until I added a BTA that recently split from my other tank. Now they both literally try to get into it at same time.

Mine sleeps in the bottom front right corner after hollowing out a hole. Comes up to my hand any time it's in the tank. Nips at me occasionally. Gets in the way any time I'm moving or positioning corals. Lets me touch it and only moves inch or so away if it does like it. Attacks my coral feeder tube and is mainly a riot to watch. It didn't like where I put a new red gorgonian so it knocked it over and broke it free from it's rock. It approves of the new location and is now leaving it alone. Not aggressive with any of the fish or corals, it just wanted to swim where the gorgonian was. So I guess it has final say in the tank aquascaping. Other than that it's just a normal, well adjusted goofball.

When my percula were young they used to take a jogging round in front of a Tunze streamer a few minutes once or twice a day.

I have had a tank that has only 2 clowns I it and 3 bubble tips and it's taken over 7 months and so far only 1 clown goes in the bubble tip the other just lies on its side at the top when sleeping.

I agree with everyone my clowns def do weird things. I have 4. 2-mocha storms, a mocha longfin and a black ice. They all sleep together on the sand at nite and they host in my palythoa colony during the day lol.

Hey thanks for the recommendations! Clowns are great and the friendliest out of all the fish I've had, and very different from beagles and basset hounds (duh)...thanks again!

interesting...lying on its side at the top when sleeping would scare me! I thought they were dead the first time I saw mine sleeping

My other 2 clowns in my main tank sleep about 1 inch from a wave maker in the corner of the tank going up and down with the flow.

One night I woke up and just so happened to check on my reef tank. One of my clownfish was swimming against the current of the wave maker upside down. Mine also do the twitchy thing and sleep in the corner facing downward. Outve all the fish i have these are my favorite to watch.:D
