cocoon growing on live rock

i had this frag four about 10 months now and it has not grown much if any, i got to looking at it today an found this cocoon looking thing it's shaped in a ' c ' . brown in color here is a picture of it

It is a Vermetid snail, it will put off a snot like web to catch food. They are harmless but I get rid of them because of the snot web is ugly.

+1 They cut you if your not careful when working in the tank these thing are the worst thing next to glass anemones imo

Could irritate your acans with its web out as well. I'd cut it off.

yup remove it. it seems like the web irritates other corals.
