They are sitting on a frag rack against the acrylic and just using a clip on orange filter 🙂

Break them off and stab inside the hole with a pick, then glue over them. Still might not work 100% but it helps. Ivermectin dips are effective from what I read but haven’t tried it. Unless the frag is overcome by them, it will grow just fine. I think most large captive grown colonies will have these around the base or in more areas. Pretty normal stuff.

Will the worm spread to other corals? If it does can it kill the coral?

They will not kill your coral. I've had them as long as I've had a tank. They will come in surges at least in my tank. Ill see a bunch then they will disappear for months no idea what drives that. I've neve lost a coral to them or noticed stunted or slow growth from them.

ivermectin dip will kill them. cutting and gluing will not work. tried it.
dip them for an hour in about 12-16 drops per quart of 1% liquid ivermectin (like from tractor supply or IFA or other for cow/sheep deworming). Rinse them before putting back in the tank. This is by far the most gentle dip ive ever used too, no adverse affect to the acro.
