Alright party people, here is the start of my Colorado Sunburst anemone adventure...again.

Here, I will document the joys and pains (hopefully not) with this beautiful anemone we all know and love.

I won't bore you with the details on my last-first adventure. Let's just say it didn't end well for all 4 of the CSB's.

By the way, I used my Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge+ to photograph the nems. No color enhancing or Photoshopping has been done on these photos. I am using (1) Kessil a360 to light up my IM25.

Ok, without further adieu, here are a few photos of the (2) CSB's I recently picked up.

DAY 1:

That is so pretty; how much you bought that for? In here, easily $700 to $900 range.

Day 3 for my CSB's.

I had both in the acclimation box and when I arrived home, I only saw one inside the box. I was worried that the second one melted away. After searching the tank for a couple minutes, I started to laugh. The 2nd CSB was sitting directly below the first CSB.

One thing that I was surprised with is, how did that CSB escape through the 3/8" holes?

These nem's are truly amazing.

Ok, but I want to know what happened the first time?

To make a long story short, I cut the mother into 2 pieces, waited 2 weeks and cut them into 4.

One-by-one, they started to melt away in a matter of 2-3 weeks. It was crazy, its like they all communicated with each other so they can each take turns melting. All 4 didn't die off at the same time.

Here are photos the day after cutting them. The oral disc was about 1" - 1.5".

I heard a story of a guy who cut a nem into 8 all at once. 7/8 survived.

Yeah, it pains my heart to know that I destroyed a beautiful nem. Now, I won't be cutting any of my CSB's. I'll just let them naturally split, if they decide to.

Following...I picked mine up yesterday!

Congrats Jimbo662 on getting a CSB. Post a photo on here when you can.

Wow. I wonder how big that nem was for it to be cut into 8 pieces.

Taken right after it went in the tank. Sunday night it crawled to the bottom side of the rock it's sitting on and now it's been peeking out the side of the rock...foot's planted at the edge of the underside and of course on the backside where it's hard to get a pic.

Nice CSB. Who did you purchase it from?

If only nems would stay where we originally place them, that would be great. Unfortunaltely, they like to move around amd tend to plant their foot behind a rock, so it's tough to admire them. LOL.

Got it from a guy here in the local reef club. He got his original from the guy in Colorado.

Happy Nem!

All I can say is I'd made arrangements to buy before the price shot up. Not sure what he'll sell for when he's ready to start.

Yeah I have a regular sunburst that's holding on after my rainbow took a walk and covered it. If it ever splits and you're looking to sell reach out! Good luck with the nems!

It's nice to know that you are able to trace back its lineage. Good score.

FB is pretty much the only place where you'll be able to find these CSB's for sale. If you get lucky, you will find a reefer selling their on R2R. Good luck with your hunt.

Good to know that you made arrangements before the price on these CSB's sky rocketed. For me, no matter how much you pay, it really is a treat to see these in person. The colors that the yellow tips, orange tentacles and green base displays is truly remarkable.

I enjoy removing the top off my tank and just looking down at the CSB's. My goal is to eventually have a tank full of these beauty's.
