I’m two years in on the yellow wrasses and so far so good. I got them small, added about two weeks apart, and never a cross word between them.I’ll have to read about that more. I have read a little bit that it’s somewhat common in home aquaria for attempted pairs of pink streaks to turn male and start fighting, and I’d prefer to avoid stuff like that at least until I have a bit more confidence that I can handle it if things start to go sideways and by the time I’ve figured it all out it’ll probably be too late for these two anyway lol
That said I have also heard that the yellow wrasses are easy to keep pairs and trios of so I am definitely considering that
A trio of firefish also sounds great tbh. The one I had in my tank until recently was really cool. I liked how it looked and it was very even tempered with the talbot’s damsel that it shared space with. It knew I fed everyone too and would come watch me whenever I’d sit and watch the tank. I definitely want at least one again after things are confirmed to be back on track, but maybe I _will_ try a trio, we’ll see lol
I’m at about a year with the captive bred Coral
beauties, which I bought together on sale at BR when they were both the size of a quarter so I was sure they were both female. One is much larger than the other now and they seem to get along very well.
The firefish went through some issues, there’s definitely a dominant one and the runt but the aggression has largely disappeared now and they each have their own spot so they really don’t hang out together. I probably wouldn’t try more than one of those again but they do seem to have settled in.
The reason why I was asking about your Dr Reef experience is that it’s my understanding he has access to Green Chromis from Africa that are less prone to Uronema. I’d like to get a trio that I can be reasonably sure are healthy.
Also thinking about a trio of Chalk Basslets and a pair of Zebra Barred Dartfish.
I’m looking forward to seeing how you restock and whether the pink streaks work together if you decide to try it.
