All the snakes we found on that trip (kingsnakes and canebrakes) had been previously discovered by Fords, Chevys and Toyotas.

We had a great time though, and I got pretty close to a bear in the Alligator River Refuge. (Or rather, bear got close to me. Like ... six inches, close . . . )

Ah, those rubber footed beasts do seem to find the most of them. Did you see any of these beautiful creatures around the refuge? I lease some hunting property just on the west side of the Alligator river bridge.

We didn't - though we were looking!

This would have been ... late eighties / early nineties? Not sure how many 'gators were in the refuge in those days . . .

We were looking for the red wolves, as well - with the same result.
