I can't seem to get hair algae under control in one of my tanks. I've tried filtration upgrades, uv, snails. Can Copepods be used to help control hair algae?

Copepods can definitely help with other kinds of algae (mainly diatoms) but they won't do much against GHA.

What are your parameters? Do you have a refugium?

You might want to try an urchin, or a tang, depending on the size of the tank

Copepods are very beneficial for many things in your reef aquarium however not hair algae :) It is always a good idea to add as many as you can justify when setting up a new tank- and indeed down the line as well!

What are your tank parameters? Since you are struggling, one might think your nutrients are high?

I had a hair algae problem in a rather new tank. Added one tuxedo urchin and I haven't seen any of it since!

Urchins are very good but also have the subtlety of a baboon.
I could not imagine my tanks without them! :) We have four different reef tanks in the house and all of them have a tuxedo in them! The benefits outweigh all else in my book! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

its a 20 gallon nano. i've tried adding urchins, but they always die in there for some unknown reason. I haven' ttried a tang, since the tanks so small. it's not that heavily stocked. 2 clowns, 1 helfrinchi and 1 anthia
