I recently bought a coral beauty last Saturday and put him in my qt and started treating with cupramine. He ate great the first two days.
I then noticed that both his eyes have white fuzzy patches clouding a little bit of both his eyes. Since Tuesday I haven’t seen him eat and hasn’t been interested in eating. I would also like to note that his breathing was very quick.
I immediately went to flukes since these can be symptoms. I tried a freshwater bath with no results. Could this be gill flukes or is this a bacterial infection from stress? I have prazi and kanaplex at the ready, currently treating with cupramine.

Could you post pictures?

It could be an irritation from copper or even a potential overdose. What do you use to test copper? If the fish doesn’t have visible signs of velvet I would do a large water change and discontinue copper until it recovers.

It had the eye cloudiness before dosing copper. But, I’ll check it. It’s really hard to get a good picture. He doesn’t make a good model. The cloudiness is very small but towards the back side of the eyes.

Copper levels are 0.5mg/l. Ph is 8.4. I am performing wc every other day.

For fish in QTs that are experiencing distress without definitive symptoms consider using Furan2 + Kanaplex + Paragard. This covers an extremely wide spectrum of possibilities and the Paragard does not damage the QT's biofilter unlike other options that hamper the biofilters ability to provide an environment where the fish can heal and thrive.

UPDATE: I did a 100% wc to remove ammonia and copper after hearing input. Shortly after, I had remembered a similar instance with the same lfs giving me a kole tang with gill flukes and the kole tang spread it to everyone in my dt. It died before I could treat it however I managed to save my yellow tang and other fish. With that in mind, I went ahead and dosed prazi (I will be hitting him with a second round tomorrow) in my qt for my cb. For about five days on prazi he didn’t eat, however his cloudy eyes cleared up for the most part on its own and he started being less lethargic and irritated all the time. Today however, I attempted to feed a couple pieces of shrimp and, to my surprise, he ate. Only 4 pieces went down but that is an improvement. Hopefully he can be nursed back until he is 100%.
