Also, best to run the system with the solution then calibrate? I see people has RO water to calibrate but then water is in the line unless they run it out? I don’t know. What’s the best option ?

The calculators online show how much to dose now to get to recommend levels. How do I know what to does over time? I had a guy help me once and he ended up with 7mil of alk and cal everyday.

You need too work out what Your daily uptake is ..
so test after 7 days and see how Much is used ,devide by 7 , then devide one day into 24 dosing .. but the coral box works that out you just need To know Total per day then how Many times you want it To dose ,
Im dosing Calc and mag and alk 17 ml per day on my 90g mixed reef

Ok. I read that most people don’t need to dose mag that offten. I have not made a batch of that yet. I’ll keep an eye on the levels. Thanks

Make sure all the hoses are pushed on as far as they can ... I’m sure they are .. but thought I’d mention it , the beter the seal the less likely to get air bubbles in !

And what’s the purpose of check valves? I read none if they are not submerged
The check valves are to stop a back syphon and intake of air ...
If you alk hose is in the water any residue alk will crystallize and it will become blocked .. I tried it once with my mag hose .. but didn’t seem to make any difference

Has anyone opened one of these up and checked if the internals (motors) are the same as the DP4?

My outlet ends are above water never submerged. Also reef breeders said air in the outlet lines is completely fine and won’t make much of a difference is what I read

Not entirely- some air is OK. But if your lines are full of air, that will affect your dosers output. We recommend using the check valves to keep your lines primed.

@Reef Breeders
Im setting up my doser i ordered from you guys! I know i need to keep the dosing container below the water level but is it ok to have the pump itself above the water? I have an AIO Tank without a sump. I want to put the container on the bottom of the stand but hang the doser at the top of the stand with the output lines going out the back and up to the rear of the tank. Is that ok?

Yes, definitely! The position of the pump does not matter so much as the position of the dosing chemicals.

A siphon can only form if the input water level is higher than the output, since it is gravity driven.

Your pump is still lower than the output, however even if it wasn't a siphon would still not be an issue.
