Coral Dip

If you do, what product do you use?
Have you ever experienced any ill-effect on your dipped corals?

I have been using ReVive only. Haven't tried anything else. No ill-effect on any corals.

Bayer and coral rx is all I have used. Coral rx works well but can be harsh on your corals. Bayer works well and is very easy on your corals. If you were to have an aefw outbreak you would loose many sps just from dipping over and over vs coral rx. If this is a one and done dip then you should be ok with coral rx, but some deepwater or smooth skined acro's don't handle coral rx well.

Bayer Advanced works like a charm. Mix 5ml per 1 cup of tank water. Let coral sit for about 20 min while gently spraying with a turkey bastor. It kills absolutely everything. Give them a good rinse in fresh tankwater and your good to go.
I've used it for the last two years heavily and I still have about 1/3 of a 20$ bottle left.

used to use coral rx, switched to bayer. No problems with bayer.

Sorry, I answered poorly.

I dip everything. Then qt.
I have used, coral rx, Revive, bayer, Peroxide.
I have had no difficulty save peroxide. Zoas don't seem to prefer it. Or I used too much. Generally 10 to ratio.

I use three 4qt large bowls.

1. 2qt saltwater, 2 capfuls of Bayer x 5 minutes.
2. 1qt saltwater with 16oz of H2O2 x 5 minutes.
3. 2-3qt saltwater - to rinse before placing in frag tank or display.

I had a small red/green favia frag that bleached white in H2O2 - my fault, I was busy and I think I left it in there for 20 minutes. The color came back after 3 months and now it's plating off the frag plug.

Sometimes zoas get ticked off and won't open for 1 - 3 days. The 4 zoa frags I dipped yesterday with the above method opened up within 4 hours.
My GSP covered rock closed for 2 weeks. They're fine now.

I try to always remove the original plug. I keep a selection of plugs to use if I'm doing temporary placement.
I always inspect with a lighted loop and tweeze out anything that looks suspicious.

With the above method I've dipped:
GSP
zoanthids
Duncans
Toadstool leather
favia
micromussa lordhowensis
trachyphillia
candycane
birds nest
branching montipora
montipora digitata
montipora undata
stylophora
pocillopora
euphyllia paraancora/ancora
euphyllia paradivisa
lobophyllia........................ I, I think that's about it.

After losing some soft skinned sps from coral rx dips I switched to Bayer dip and haven't had a problem since.

It's important to inspect all your frags for eggs as well when dipping. I ALWAYS use a tooth brush to scrub everything except the coral.

I've seen flatworms live after a strong Bauer dip, there might be some hobbiest strain that has managed to gain immunity. Having a small reef QT is a mega plus.

Also remove the original frag plug to help ensure nothing hiding/hatching gets in.

I've had the same experience. Bayer hasn't always killed or knocked everything off the coral when I dip. I was shocked the first time I saw this when I brought some corals home from an LFS. It's happened a few times and I have even had some acro crabs live through a 20 minute dip.
