Rainbow pectinia maybe?
Good call. Not sure about rainbow, but I'm definitely leaning towards a pectinia.
so here is the thing because we am newer we made the mistake of buying before we knew exactly what it was. We were told it's an acan but it refuses to puff up so we don't think its that. We don't want it to die. It hasn't gotten any worse we are going to try and spot feed it with mysis again. We have been doing browsing on the web and just can not seem to find what it is!

It's definitely not an acan, no. Pectinias can be slow growers, and aside from a few (very minor) spots on it - it seems healthy.

Do you have any guess as t what the spots on it could be?
It looks like parts where the coral may have been damaged (stung by another coral, dinged, etc.) that are now covered with a bit of algae growth. I wouldn't worry - over time the coral will usually replace and overgrow these (I have corals with minor spots like this where they banged onto rocks when my fish toppled them over).

Not Pectinia; probably Dipsastraea that has been in captivity for a long time

Ya it looks fine. Kind of a cool looking speciman. Best thing to do is not mess with it. Leave it alone and let it do its thing. Has obvious mouths so would spot feed it a couple times a week. Reef roids is good. What kind of light do you have?
