It’s a little hard to tell since it looks like it’s still closed up a bit, but that looks like an encrusting hydnophora. They’re very pretty and hardy for an SPS, but they’re also aggressive, so be careful how close you put it to other coral.
They’re not too picky, and they’re one of the easiest sps. They are not picky like acros. They can tolerate moderate to high flow and light. Most sps except cyphastrea and leptoseris like or tolerate high light and flow. I’m not sure what lights you’re running, but to be on the safe side, I would start it low with a good amount of flow to acclimate it to your lights. Then you can move it up. You may want to isolate it because it will start encrusting your rock scape, and they can send out pretty long sweepers that will do a number on most coralsCool, Encrusting Hydnophora it is! This is one of my first corals, completely didnt know i was getting an SPS... but upon research it seems to be a "hardier" SPS coral.. Is it recommended to be in a high light (closer to the top of tank) and some good flow or is it ok to be a bit lower?
