So my tank is about give or take 4 months old and every week I'm noticing more and more of this stuff and was wondering if that's good I know that means it's a health tank but I'm scrubbing this stuff off the front and sides and it keeps coming back a few days later as little specs I started to leave it on the back due to I see a lot of tanks doing it and it looks cool but I took a picture and this is about a months or less worth due to scrubbing it off lol

Its a good sign but it also means you need to monitor alkalinity, calcium and magnesium.

When you get a lot of coralline growth, it consumes alkalinity, calcium and magnesium. If you don't monitor alkalinity, it can quickly drop and some corals don't take it very well when alkalinity changes to parameters they don't like.

Coralline algae simply grows in a stable alk and cal environment. Most people in the hobby obsess over getting coralline to grow yet they fail to provide stable water chemistry. Keep an eye on your alk and cal as it will drop if you allow coralline to take over the tank.
