Hey all! I've been wanting to tweak the settings on my AI Hydra (NOT HD) and have been looking into the Saxby schedule, though I'd like the input of others.
I have a 20G mixed reef, LPS dominant and gaining more SPS, run on an old model AI Hydra 52 mounted roughly 14" above the tank. The LPS are doing fantastic, as are the few mushrooms that refuse to be removed from the rocks and relocated to my other (softie dominated) tank. The SPS are half and half - half seem to be doing well, the other half not so well, and I'm thinking it's in part lighting. (My tanks have also been neglected a bit over the past few weeks due to work and sickness, which is the other part) 24176971_10209829421122469_5152165840062745255_n.jpg 24231805_10209829422162495_1744856082508998539_n.jpg 24232269_10209829421802486_4190133990080269717_n.jpg 24232292_10209829422562505_7768052719652680972_n.jpg 24232659_10209829423002516_7548431546636243530_n.jpg 24296574_10209829423202521_7902767997042776019_n.jpg 24131404_10209829431522729_7619486312273207540_n.jpg 24296432_10209829432682758_217850765578735920_n.jpg

Holy pictures, Batman.

Intensity could probably stand coming up a few percentage points. Also a little of the red and green channels will help as well, you want to make sure you're representing a "full spectrum" using every light channel you have at your disposal.

What are you water parameters like? When you say your tank has been neglected for the past few weeks, what exactly do you mean? Did any significant changes in water parameters occur? Also, how old is your tank?

Sorry about the pictures, I have no idea why it did that. Fixed it now.
Tank normally gets a 3G water change weekly, skimmer emptied every couple days, along with the nitrate and phosphate pads changed in the filter weekly. Haven't done any of that the past weeks, all I've been doing is feeding. Water is mixing now for a water change/test party later tonight, but at last check a couple weeks ago levels were approximatly:
pH: 7.8 (APEX)
NO3: 20
PO4: .1 or under (HANNA)
Mag: 1350
Ca: 420
Alk: 9
The app I use to track things isn't loading for me right now, but I'll get updated values when I test everything later this evening.

EDIT- Tank is about 18months old.

I think they’re getting cooked.. it appears like they’re getting blasted I would try lowering the intensity
