Tanks still not 100% clear from the bacterial bloom so its hard to spot my frags. Currently have two small stylophora frags, a leather, acanthrophylia, some zoas, green shrooms and a turbinaria that makes it 7/8 corals :D

Tanks a reefer xl 525.

I have a few more than 50 corals in my tank (no frags). Mostly zoas but some LPS and SPS. I also have over 40 anemones (36 RFA, 2 curly-Q, 4 mini-max).

I made my tank and it's a 90g tank with a 25G sump/fuge. It's 36" x 30" x 20". I love the 30" front to back dimension.
Wow !

I was inspired by this thread but wanted to make this an official QOTD with a poll so here we go!

So in order for this to make sense we need to know 2 things:

1. How many corals (including frags) do you have in your main display tank?

2. What's the size of your main reef tank display?

BONUS: Share a photo of your reef with all the corals!

Wow, what a beautiful tank!! I was a reefer about 20 years ago in college, then had to move all over the country and couldn't keep one. Now, I have twins (one boy and one girl) and they are now 15. My girl LOVES saltwater aquariums, so I broke down and started to split the cost and labor with her. I made her keep a Beta Fish tank for 3 months before I would let her get into SW (Saltwater) systems. NOW, we have a 32 biocube. I know it's not this, but it is a great starter. I got the protein skimmer and I just ordered the inline UV filter. I added another filter medium to increase carbon and decrease phosphates.
I have 16 corals in way of frags. The tank went thru the purple coraline (life-rock) and I bought about 3 lbs of LIVE rock. I have live sand. It went thru the initial good looking phase, then the algae started in, so I waited it out, and the green coraline looking algae has started to turn purple again, but a dark richer purple. Now it will go through a few more stages until it is a mature tank!!

Anyway, the corals are what I love and want to grow like mad! the fish are my little girls interest. So, it works out perfectly. But, I get the expense of the corals!! ahah

I think we ALL have really strange and funny stories about our tanks we would never forget. I would like to start a thread JUST on funny stories that happened to their tanks or fish.. also, stories we all learn from. I am going to attempt to start that thread if one doesn't exist.
thanks, your tank is amazing, and after this biocube matures, then I am going up on my own tank.

Hi,
I have a 32 biocube, I am 2-3 months in, but would love to see what you've done with your cubes. I added a protein skimmer V2 to my 32 cube. I am about to add an inline UV filter for when it is needed. I have a lot of other things, but would love to compare to see if I need something that you have and I don't or vice versa. I like the cubes. My first reef was a 75gal then a 110gal, but I was young and chose a career that made me travel, so I am just now getting back into SW and reefs. I split the tank with my daughter and she likes and cares for the fish. I handle the corals, adn of course incur the expense of the corals. haa.

By the way I keep my tank at 73 all year long and still have good coral growth and lot people said it wouldn’t work at that temperature kept saying have to least 77-80
I could never have it that high My ponies would boil they like chill I’d rather have it on 69-70 but that’s to low for the coral

Thanks.
Soon I'm going to try tearing the rockscape apart and do it over again, this time using some shelf rock.

I'm going to shut down my RFA breeding tank and move all 35+ anemones into the display tank. I'll be showing the change as it happens in my tank build thread.

I have roughly fifty colonies in my 125 gallon tank excluding what's on the frag rack. Not all of these are unique types or species, but they are separate colonies even if they are replicated.
