Hi all

Added a longhorn and box fish 4 days ago and now seem covered in ich.

I have regal and powder brown tang which do fine and don't have spots but it must be in the water.

I have reef set up so will struggle with copper treatment.

All water stats in the green is it just because they have been introduced should I give them time? I have a uv steriliser running.

Or should I remove and treat?

Please advise I will attach picture

Looks like flukes and possibly skin reaction
I don’t know what way to say this other than that you acquired the two worse and challenging fish that even test the most experienced hobbyists
They don’t do well as you just found out in captivity and rarely eat or eat then shut down.
They don’t do well with medication due to their delicate nature.
If these were my fish, the medication that I would use is ruby rally pro. It is reef safe. Provide additional oxygen for them and assure GOOD WATER QUALITY
Salinity 1.025
Temp 76-79
Ph. 8.2
Ammonia < .025
Nitrate < .4

Why are there air bubbles stuck under the cowfish? That is odd. The cowfish is showing ich, the box fish is showing mucus plugs, probably as a reaction to the presence of ich trophonts. I do not see any successful course for treatment in a reef tank like this.
The tangs just likely haven’t had time to break with ich yet. My expectation is that they eventually will, but it may not be a sure thing, especially if th tangs are long term captives and have had ich in the past. I don’t think this is flukes, but it is not uncommon for fish to have multiple diseases at one time.

Thanks guys

My water stats are in those ranges or less for the nh4 and no2. Yes I noticed the bubbles but cannot work out why he has them . They are eating well and seem happy other than the spots! I'll see if I can get that medication in the UK should I treat the whole tank or take them out?
