In short braided fishing line works and so does the consintrated goofoff. a few sharp Razer blades were necessary. I'll give a full description in a few hours. Its late where I'm at.
So far so good on this build. We will see how it comes together. The new panel will be here by next Monday predrilled which will be nice. If there is anyone out there that has ever done this it would be cool to hear from you.
So to give you guys a quick low down. I had to use a painters tool that was relatively stiff to get through the silicone holding down the trim. It was a slow process. I used extra strength goof off on the top rim being carful to avoid the seams. I used braided 30lb fishing line that I doubled up several times. It worked great but I would recammend a heavier braid if you can find it because it did break once or twice getting it started into the groove to separate the panel. The top of the rim did get a little chipped up with this tool but I think it'll be ok. The new panel cost $115 in 5/16, drilled. Anyway, that's all for now so far I have 3 hours into this project. That includes cleaning all the silicone from all of the seams. Not bad so far. So far I think I'll end up saving some cash once I consider a new stand and lighting options etc, because everything I purchased was for the size of this tank. Let me know what you all think.
