Hey all,

I've had this waratah anenome in my tank for almost a week, and I'm no expert but, it looks ticked.

Is there anything I can do for it? Its about 8 inches under a 70w MH, and I wish I could move it down but its stuck good to that rock. Anything I can do to pry it up?

Thanks!

Those are cold water anemones. Not for a reef tank unless its a cold water reef. They like around 68 degree water, if I remember right.

Yeah, I knew it was a risk when I got it because they natural come from cooler water. I've read of them being acclimented to 80 degree tanks though.....so I thought I'd give it a whirl. She looks better tonight. :(

You can aim a powerhead at the foot, or shade it from the light to make it let go...

She look better today and she ate some mysis. She just looks awful when my lights come on. Arn't anenome's supposed to MOVE if they don't like where they are? I'd think if it was too much light that she'd shimmy her way down the rock.

Thanks for the suggestions on how to move her. I may give her a day or two and see how she adjusts.

I may lower the tank a few degrees and see how they do. Heres a pic of her today without the lights on.
