The issues outlined in the articles and threads are not an isolated issue. I have seen the same things thru the years down here in Atlanta, with the most glaring thing being the "doors locked during posted hours of operation" scenario. That happened to me just last week with one of our Atlanta Reef Club Sponsors. I stopped off to take a look at a new shipment of corals about 1:30 pm, and guess what, doors locked and they were supposed to be open.

Stores closing with debts still owed to suppliers, yup, seen that too.

There was a shop here in Kalamazoo that was doing the same exact thing, only he kept changing his business name or DBA. When people(suppliers) would come calling for their money he would tell them sorry you have to talk to so and so business. This is bla-bla-bla business we have nothing to do with them. After about 10 different DBA( Doing business as) he couldn't shake them no more so he closed down all of his operations here in town.....Which in the end was a good thing cause I think they killed more sea life then global warming.....

With a little touch of photoshopping.. nothing beats touching up the levels and hues! :D

I have seen there stuff and some of the most respectfull photographers on this side have a lot of their stuff and I know for a fact they do not photoshop. So unless you have proof I would be quiet.

yeah i agree...i had frags from mico colonies that originated at reef raft and they were every bit as nice as the photo's showed. I have never been to reef raft and I have never had any experiences with them in person so I have nothing to say about their business practices. If the debt stories are true I blame the wholesaler just as much-a business relationship is exactly that-business. Who ever would send somthing in the tune of 12 or 20 grand without payment is an absolute idiot and shouldnt be in business themselves...

seeing as how i own about 30 morphs of Reef Rafts best from the acan peak...i can in fact attest that their photos were grossly over saturated.

NOT EVEN CLOSE to be honest....which was a shame, because their stuff was in fact amazing all on its own, and at the time, FAR better than anyone else.

I have not been there, but i have met Jay (one of the owners) at a local swap down here, that he attended, at one of his biggest customers shops.

They have great live stock, but i certainly could not support them, now knowing their business practices.

In regards to a supplier sending them a huge order without pre-payment...its real easy....if you are doing that amount with a supplier every single week for months on end, and got paid each time, you are not going to worry about not getting paid...and thats how real businesses work...keep in mind...they were wholesaling, not just a retail shop.

Thank you Junior for clarifying. And they do photoshop. It is a fact. It is an unfortunate fact, as the corals they get don't need photoshopped.
