Crushed coral??

Have herd crushed coral is best thing for bottom of tank for my seahorses. All opinions are welcome

My experience with crushed coral was not good. Algae grows all over it and it looks terrible.

I ended up scooping all my crushed coral out of my tank. I hated it! Held detritus, grew algae and was rough on my gobies
