I have a nano on the smaller side so my livestock options are basically limited to inverts. My worry is that the ones I want (Pompom crabs, sexy shrimp, maybe bumblebee shrimp) would be immediately predated upon by CUC hermits, mithrax crabs, or potentially a pistol shrimp (I just assume I'm going to get tiny ones from my future TBS order).

How worried do I actually need to be about that?

Define "smaller side"? I like Blue Leg hermit crabs and Ceriths or even Dwarf Ceriths.

Hector's Goby and Rainford Goby (Court Jester) stay fairly small and they hover more than swim so they are suitable for some of the smaller tanks. Mine is loving life in my 8 gallon.

It's a 5.5gl standard glass tank. The CUC is already handled (for the most part).

The question I was asking is if the CUC, and potentially hitchhikers like TBS' pistol shrimp, would pose any kind of danger to Pompom Crabs, Sexy shrimp and potentially Bumblebee shrimp. Or, I guess, if those three species are going to go full blown cage match among the selves.

Pistol Shrimp could be a hit or miss as far as predatory instinct. Usually no but if it's hungry it's going to eat and if one of the little shrimp get too close, easy prey.

Are you planning on RFAs?

I have no real plans for what's going to be in there beyond the current CUC, a small Duncan head, and three leathers I have in a pico that I'd never really intended to have running for this long. The original plan was to stick some TBS rock in and see what evolves on its own and make choices from there. Mostly trying to information gather on "if XYZ shows up, can I do (whatever), or do I have to change to (different) idea."
RFAs are really lovely, and tempt me every time I see them, though. As do Curlyque anemones and their symbiotic pistols.
