It has been shrunken for weeks, with its tentacles now white and retracted.

I tore it from my tank and ended it, felt awful doing it, but I was scared it would die and nuke the tank.

What happens now? My two clowns were bonded to it. Will the disappearance of their anemone affect them?

I think lack of light killed it - the BTA rooted in a cave that I couldn't get it to move from, where it was constantly shaded.

BTA’s death will not Nuke a tank. I am not sure what happen to you anemone but I think it may be best to do large volume water changes to improve chemistry of your tank.
Instead of trying to move the anemone, you may want to rearrange your rocks to get more like to the anemone.
