Another CNY guy here. Been at it a few years. Started with a 72 gallon bow and A LOT of reading and now have an Oceanic 180, SPS dominated, basement sump system. Also have a softie side project Oceanic Tech 70 gal.

Here's some pics: (hope this works...)

Just added a bunch of softies, zoos and rics to the 70! I'll get some pics as soon as the battery charges.

Thanks for the compliments. Tank is going on about 18 months, but many of the corals were frags in the old 72. I'm using Maristar fixtures w/ DE 250MH's and T5 supplements.

I've got a GEO 6x24. It's finicky (sp?), if the effluent gets plugged it becomes a major pain in the butt. I try to change the effluent tubing every couple of months to prevent mineral deposits and clogging.

Otherwise, I do 40 gal water changes every week. Keeps Ca around 430 or so.

Never really have tried SPS yet, tried a few caps but never had luck. Been doing some good reasearch as I would like to have my 260 similiar to yours. Mainly SPS.

Dosing is way out of the option with that size. Just trying to learn all I can, still consider me a newbie!

My SH 70 gal. Havin some problems with hair algae right now, but I'm running this tank a little "dirtier" than my SPS system.
