I love drop off tanks too. I will definitely be following along to see this come to life! I like the idea of 4ft area for the garden eels too, they are such enjoyable fish to watch. Sort of like jawfish in my opinion, I could waste the day away watching them.

Zach I was looking at a similar albeit smaller drop off 6' 20" deep 18" high in the shallow 32" high on the drop off. I had a quote from miracles if you wanted the cost I'd be happy to share. Although mine was priced with holes for a closed loop 6 outlet ocean motion for flow. Hate the look of powerheads lol

Talked with Crystal Dynamics about this build. They said they would get off a few sketches and what not. So we shall see. Has anyone dealt with CD before?
Also, what do you guys think about livestock for this beast?

I have no personal experience with Crystal Dynamics, however, I've read one or two forum posts from individuals having great experiences with their customer service. As for livestock...I think one or two pieces of rock would look nice ;)

Haha yea. I have heard similar. Seeing as this tank is prob 2-5 years out yet (hopefully no longer than 3, 2020 is my goal) I have some time to plan.
I was thinking 3 rocks and some pods. That should be entertaining for awhile.

The more I add, the more this Goliath costs. Still awaiting from Crystal Dynamics as well as Reef Savvy to see what they think. Any more thoughts for the tank/equipment/ stocking etc.

-Zack, #mods can we move this to the “Large 180g+” Forum please.

There's gotta be eight, ten metric tons of potential here . . .

Sounds like a seriously amazing build!

~Bruce, imagining a shoal of anthias hanging just off the edge of that big reef . . .

I once saw a 1000 gallon with 30+ Allen's damsels all schooled together and it was one of the most striking things I've seen in an aquarium. I know people see "damsel" and red sirens start going off but maybe think about it!

Most people here “powder blue tang” and think to disease, or aggression. When I dove with them their was never any aggression. Their was a group of 15 or so. Never bothered anyone. Just grazed and kept on swimming. Personally, the aggression comes when we take them out of a “group” and single them out, only to feed them pellets and flakes. Not their natural diet. I mean. If I was taken out of society and fed tree bark for the rest of my life, I would be pretty ticked to.

-Zack, who likes the idea.

So I was sitting here and wondered if I was able to link all of these Kessils together? So does anyone know if I can link 12 A360WE and 2 AP700 kessils to run on 1 controller? Maybe VIA Apex or the Kessil Controller?
