Have a 90x30x12 peninsula.
Sump 72x26x24

It’s ok but just not what I want.

Issues:
Flow think it’s due to overflow being the whole 30” wall vs just a middle overflow on the 30” wall.

Going to have a 90x30x18” acrylic commissioned but I’m torn on overflow and return placements. Curious if anyone has embarked on this and pictures.

1. Center overflow
2. Dual island overflow
3. Left and right overflow with left and right returns
4. Left overflow right returns
5. Closed loop and left overflow
6. Closed loop with center overflow.
7. Closed loop with dual island overflows

I prefer less rock and large colonies. 4 table sps, 2 derasa clams, 1 banana HG OG.

Wife is ok with this and when I asked her opinion she stated think about the future. Think she means do I want a peninsula or none peninsula. This brings a complete new set of items but thinking if anything give myself as many views as possible with as few visible cords but still fairly maintainence. Closed loop is appealing as returns are cheaper than powerheads but the intakes and tank gang hitting the returns is a concern of course.

Measurements concrete as stand and floating canopy already in place.

I went with a external overflow box on my current 240. It has the internal coast to coast style box on the inside and I'm very happy with it.
The long internal box allows me to run more flow without the water noise.
The only restriction is the size of the drain pvc and the number of them.

I also went with a closed loop with 4 returns. 2 high and 2 low. On each inside the tank is a locline Y with 2 fan nozzles pointing in 8 different directs.

Do you have a picture or a IG where I can view the tank?

Anything you would different now?

I haven't updated my build thread in a very long time. I just hate my pictures lately.
There are pictures in my signature. ( 233).
After 12 years I am still happy with this design.
The only thing I would change is probably the location of the drain hole for the closed loop.
I had the builder drill that hole fairly low on the back wall. If I could go back I would have that hole maybe 1/2 way up. Just to make it easier to service. ( although I haven't even looked at it in 7-8 years and have no plans to in the near future.)

If you don’t want to see cords do a closed loop on the viewing pane. That’s my only regret on my peninsula tank. Mine could be cleaner but I never got extension cables for the mp40’s to move the wires. One of these days.

Who was your builder?
