The one benefit im finding is that the covers seal up the tank pretty well, so i dont have to worry about too much evaporation upstairs. Downstairs everything is open so I get plenty of air throughout.

Do you know of anyone who has modded these tanks like that? I'd be interested to see some pics/builds.

I've been looking at these aquaponics reservoirs to do a frag tank. Anyone have some long term success with them? What I'm thinking is a Botanicare Reservoir - 115 Gallon Reservoir - 83" x 34.25" x 15.625" (weight: 30 lbs) and putting a 400W halide on a light mover above it.

Been a minute since I've updated this. still running well. I just scored a 180 for free and am going to pipe it into this system. what would be a sweet 180 biotope for the basement?

Sump room refinished. Need to work out a more permanent location for the skinner and ca/ex.

Also, finishing up some minor cosmetic things as well. Decided not to finish the back wall with sheetrock. Really, no need other than asthetics.

Cabinet hinges need to go on, door needs to go in.

The system in the basement now runs on 3 20A and 1 15A breakers for the current tank and the new 180.

Thanks. Got the 180 in the basement and set in place. Lights up just need to finish plumbing and it can get started.

Picked up a Niger trigger for the 180. Trying to figure out what else to do with it though. Thinking nems and softies.

Finally installed 3 32" SB reef Pro Timer LED's over my frag tank @SB Reef Lights . Previously was run on a Kessil a360w. Pulled out the orange camera lense for my phone - aquariclip from @AlgaeBarn.

Ok, have a small problem and need some advice. I have a metric s*&t ton of asterina star fish in my tank. What are the options for getting rid of them? I've read about harlequin shrimp, but keep triggers. I don't know that he shrimp would even make it to the bottom of the tank.

With the tank being 8' long, manual removal is daunting....

What have others done in this situation?
