I have been running 2 Blaze X 90s (36 inch) fixtures for a couple of years. They work great and have an excellent spectrum. Support is a bit lacking and the recent push with WWC and other social media is interesting, but they are great lights and I'm glad they are getting more known in the USA.

I have a full Acropora tank and have used these exclusively. I think the Blaze X is a better option than the X4s. The X4s are terribly over priced in my opinion. The Blaze X 90 that I use has 9 pucks of leds and the fixture itself puts out 230 watts.

I now see that the Blaze X is not available anymore and only the X4. You'll need quite a few of the X4 to cover a tank as they are only 4 LED pucks.

Now, the REAL downside, the App will get the job done, but it is atrocious. Probably one of the worst apps I have ever seen for an LED light. Now maybe that is because I am using the Bluetooth version of the Blaze X and I think they have a bit of an upgraded app for the new X4s.

My fixtures are kept perfect and I emailed Unique Corals 3 times about some fan issues and the lights intermittently cutting off and coming on. Unique sold me the lights and wouldn't even respond to me even though they have another year of warranty left. So Dalua, out of Australia, I emailed them as they are the main distributor for illumagic. Responded quickly, but then went silent. I was told they would send me some fans (just small PC based fans) as the cooling fins broke and there under no dust or anything. Not a big deal, as I could replace myself. Then I was told the only thing that could be wrong with the intermittent lights was a watch battery in the fixture. I replaced those batteries, still have the issue. No help.

So I take it that they didn't want to fool with the customers that had these lights and wanted to move on to the X4s. I don't appreciate that in the least as I paid well over 2 grand for 2 fixtures. I do like the lights, when they are working and they do grow coral just fine. However, I will stick to fixtures with more mainstream support in the future as this has left a bad taste in my mouth and I used to brag on these lights constantly.

Verdict......pass. The social media push is because they gave Koralito a whole set up because he had a lot of followers. Hard to pass up if you're him. THEN, WWC just happened to go review his tank for their YouTube channel and now WWC is using them.... Not a coincidence. It's all about marketing these days and not performance.

I'm still on the fence. If Reef Fi's interface were better, it would be a no-brainer decision for me. to go with the Uno 2.1.

Any update on the Reefis? Currently in the same decision tree you were in. Owned the original Unos on my last tank and considering the 2.1s for my new 6 ft build.
Hope you don't need a warranty claim. I went around and around for a fan replacement, was lied to, put off, rudely responded to, etc. Still didn't get the replacement. This was Dalua, out of Australia and can't get unique corals on the USA to even respond to an email. STAY FAR AWAY. You've been warned.

I hope it is not that bad. I bought 2 x4s after dealing with Orphek's burnt led issues. Dalua seemed pretty responsive when I initially talked to them.

Dalua at the very least are extremely responsive. Didn't quite have a 5-star experience with them working out my issues but they responded almost instantly every time I contacted them through WhatsApp

Im running four X4s and one vitamini on my 6 foot mixed reef. Getting 480 PAR one inch under the water and centre to the light with high flow. lights set to beast mode.
But run reef realism set to Cairns Geo Australia so it changes the light level a 1000 times a day to match light intensity throughout the day, clouds what not. So get light ramping up in the morning and down late afternoon up to 280/350 for most hours in the day and maxing out to 480PAR around 12pm. Love it. :)

Yes, they "usually" respond quickly, but wait until you have a real issue. You'll get every excuse under the sun and they'll try to talk you out of even having an issue and be friendly about it. If that doesn't work and you actually request service, that's where the gaslighting starts and not returning emails.

They're not true to their word.

Hey Brad, looks great! I run the Blaze X units and they're great for corals. No argument on that. The issue is their lack of service. I still have 2 Blaze X 90s on my system as I type this. Nothing wrong with the ability to grow coral, just their ability to service you if something happens.

Mine had a 3 year warranty and I had an issue a hear into that. They wouldn't even respond and neither would Unique Corals, they're USA distributor. They're still under warranty and the last email exchange that I FINALLY got them to respond to, was the rudest you coukd imagine. Accused me of lying and everything. Just dirtbags, but I don't think it's indicative of the product as they are made in Taiwan.

Ive had fairly good communication with Dalua on Whats App for all my problems. Some times i've had to contact them twice to remind them to send me out my order for replacement parts as my X4s are second hand and had to get a new part through water damage of the power brick and a new metal mounting block for the older rear arm mounting bracket, that they don't sell separately. Dodgy Aliexpress were selling the arm's without the mounting blocks so Dalua went above and beyond to source one for me .

Wait until they stop making those and you still have warranty, it'll be a different story.
At any rate, glad you're happy and your tank looks very good.

Ha that's exactly what meant when I said I didn't quite get the best service. Had a issue with my Pixel Fragger LED making a high pitch noise when at any % under 100 and practically spent 2 weeks diagnosing the issue for them since they kept telling me their engineer was saying "that's just how it is". Found out their dimmer was the issue and I wanted to return the whole setup since I was so frustrated and the idea of a buzzing (faulty maybe?) LED kind of freaked me out but they would only take a return on the dimmer and nothing else..

Yep! had the same problem with my dimmer i got for my vitamini. Just a squeal load enough to be annoying. :face-with-tears-of-joy: I did get a recommendation to return it to the online store but it resolved itself a couple of day latter so didn't bother.
