Wanted to get the community's thoughts on this UV Sterilizer?

Price point for this wattage and design seem decent, but don't see many reviews on its usage for a reef tank. Anything y'all see that would make it not compatible with a reef tank?

Looking to use it to keep dinos at bay - my return pump pushes out 1000 gph and I have a 75g display & 15g sump

Thanks!!

40 watts is overkill, that’s designed for a 6000 gallon pond. You could probably use it, but you’d have to research to be sure it’s safe for use in saltwater as Danner is a freshwater pond focused company.

Yeah agreed, 25w seems like the right wattage but I also was unsure of the contact time / flow I'd need to get rid of dinos for that wattage.

I've read elsewhere it doesn't hurt to have stronger wattage/ too much UV exposure - true?

And yeah realize they are a freshwater company, but it seems like nothing is really different in how this product works / functions, right?

No issues apart from the added heat. With UVs you are generally best of going as large as possible. That way you can use it both for managing protozoans and algae.
However, if you’re never going to be using it for managing possible parasites I’d probably size down.
