I didn't want to get involved in this, but you come back with the same thing every month. Criticizing something you have no say in is pointless. Just admit you're a sore loser and that's allYour selections are bad, and don’t even follow your own rules put into place.

For real. From the voting it looks like around 100 people participate and follow the rules. Yet a few people demand changes to fit their whims.I didn't want to get involved in this, but you come back with the same thing every month. Criticizing something you have no say in is pointless. It’s pretty clear the system works for most people. Plenty of participants vote, follow the rules, and enjoy the contest for what it is. The same system has been in place for years and has worked well throughout that time. A small group demanding changes to cater to personal preferences just takes away from the purpose of learning, sharing, and enjoying the hobby. The contest was never meant to please everyone individually, but to bring the community together. It’s unfortunate how easily the focus shifts away from that and turns something positive into unnecessary tension. For real. It's really unbelievable that a niche photo contest that is mainly about learning from fellow hobbyist gets so heated. People just lose sight of what's important.
If you boil it down, connecting and learning with other hobbyists is what this whole site is about. This is a relatively tiny hobby in a tiny corner of the internet. It's not easy to find someone to chat with who cares about reef tanks. It made me very happy when so many people liked my photo of shrimp gobies a few months ago because it was such a nerdy and niche topic. Two small grey fish that I connected with people over.I do enjoy it when a member likes an image I post.

I hate to be the one to break it to you....Wait - Are we nerds?![]()

You said it! It has always amazed me how people who are involved in such a relatively niche interest and skill set, can find so much to argue about in such a small space. 95% of people (made up stat) don't have a clue what a cyphastrea is, yet we want to have this kind of exchange with fellow hobbyists over whether a green is green enough. If you boil it down, connecting and learning with other hobbyists is what this whole site is about.
