Moved the maze brain coral, it didnt like its new spot. Too much flow, its flesh started to peel a bit. Which is a shame because I loved where it was. I mounted pretty much everything I didn't do last week including the macroalgae. Only two corals on the sandbed now, the sea fan and a mushroom that I really dont know what to do with at the moment. I'll post pics tomorrow :)

Here is the new spots
The maze brain seems to like it back there with higher light and lower flow. It was starting to peel a bit at the front of the tank. I dont like this spot nearly as much but I've gotta do what's best for the coral.

Here's the big chalice I got a little while ago. This is a really awkward spot so I dont know if I'll keep it here. I does seem to like it though but its not visible from the front of the tank and you can see a little chunk of leptoseris I put there a few months ago, they will probably start to sting each other once they grow. Really hard to find a spot for a coral this big.

I dont think im going to get anymore encrusting coral. They take up too much space when you account for how they will grow out. Im going to start getting more corals that grow upwards. Definitely more Gorgonians, a purple blade and a purple candelabra are what im thinking. Maybe a toadstool, im split on adding one though since apparently their shedding and toxic slime can cause problems in nano tanks. If I did get one it would probably be a Fiji yellow. I want to get some birdsnest again and some digitata. Once I upgrade my lights I'll start getting acros and hopefully a staghorn acro.
Here's a full tank shot so you can see where the macroalgae ended up, I need to clean the glass lol, just ordered a flipper magnet cleaner. The mag float is pretty bulky and I think I damaged the magnets at some point because its not nearly as good as it used to be.

Pom pom gracilaria I think, fish store just had it labeled gracilaria. He does not eat it, so far my only inhabitants that do are my hermit crabs but they only pick at it a little.

Ordered a small stand for the 8 gallon. Im excited to set that up. Im hoping to keep some other interesting things in there too besides the sea fan. Maybe a frog fish or a scorpion fish.
Ill start another thread for that tank I think once its wet.

I think 8g is too small for an angler. I think a coral croucher would be good. I am not sure on the pygmy wasp fish maybe?

Pygmy wasp looks adorable, still might be too big though.

Did a few things today
I brushed the sea fan pretty throughly and that got rid of all the dead flesh that was hanging on so now you can see how much of it is really left, seeing how fast it can regrow has definitely given me some optimism, polyps opening every night or sooner and I've been feeding it powered food every other day. Hopefully I can get it to thrive in the 8 gallon so I can make bank by selling frags of it to clueless new reefers, just kidding :)

I did a little cuc refresh, I got 2 astrea, 2 trochus, and an emerald crab. My last emerald crab decide to laze around and randomly die instead of eating bubble algae. Hopefully this one will eat bubble algae and not my coral.

This lepto looks really nice and puffy especially for a lepto, good to see.

Dusters doing good, crowns are growing but not as fast as those tubes. Unfortunately I think the big one I had died, havent seen it open and ive seen bristleworms around the tube :(

The photosynthetic gorgonian is doing great, I think I'll reach the surface within the month! Im probably going to sell some cheap frags of it once it really gets going.
