DI depletes too quickly

I have an 200GPD AquaFX Octopus in our basement with two DI cylinders. We use about 150G or more of RO/DI water per week, upon restocking the DI canisters the DI Resin is fully depleted in 2-3 weeks. Ive heard something about aerating the water before it enters the DI but I dont know how to safely and effectively do that. Can someone give me like a photo example or MS Paint diagram or something?

What kind of resin are you using? I noticed a shorter life out of the BRS DI resin compared to the LiquaGen brand.

How old is your RO Membrane? at 18 months (150g a week on a 100gpd BRS RO/DI Unit) my DI resin would deplete extremely fast like in 150g of Water it would burn up. I changed out RO Membrane and made over 1000 gallons on the same DI Canister, which is now about 70% depleted and needs replaced again soonish.

I also noticed your Carbon filters are a nice Muddy Brown. Time to replace all your RODI Filters IMO.
Notice only my first filter is slightly brown, the next 2 are "Clean" looking. These filters were all replaced when I did the RO Membrane about 8 weeks ago.

Aerating the water is to drive off CO2 if you have it in your source water. Common if your source water comes from a well.

What is the TDS of the water entering your DI resin.

I last did RO membranes and carbon in April 2025. i do them once a year, I am pretty late this year, good catch, but even with fresh membranes my DI exhausts very quickly

How frequent does everyone replace their RO membrane? I thought it would last a year or so before replacement..

I was also thinking having 3 chambers for DI resin would work. I’m using two currently and planning to do a mixed bed, then anion and cation dedicated chambers.

What’s your TDS like before the DI chambers?

3-4 TDS. I think the membranes should last 2-4 years. I could be wrong
