Good stuff. I've seen questions by new reefers on the subject many times.

IMHO, the durso style turn down at the top of the trickle drain on a BeAnAnimal system isn't necessary. Lots of folks do use one, though. Just a straight tube, like what you picture in the Herbie, is all you really need. There's only a trickle of water falling through it, shouldn't make any noise. Putting the turn down at the top just makes it harder to adjust properly.
