Got the traditional diatom bloom going on right now. I guess this means I'm on the right path. Would running my fuge light 24/7 help?

If you haven't added a cleanup crew now would be a good time, maybe some snails and hermits.
The diatoms should run their course even without your fuge on line, but since you have a decent bioload in the tank with your addition of fish you might want to throw some cheato in the fuge and get it working.
I would just run the fuge light on a reverse light cycle it will help keep your ph stable.

I have a softball sized bunch of chaeto in the fuge, and I have the light running opposite of the DT lights. I suppose a snail or two would be a good idea at this point. Which ones do you recommend?

@Diamond1 @Crabs Mcjones @Flippers4pups Hey, I had to silicone a screen to my weir because fish kept getting pulled into the overflow. It's a thin layer. How long do I need to wait before I can fire the flow back up?

Most silicone will cure in 10-12 hours.

UGH! This tank was up and running, but the weir was too big and kept pulling in fish. I added a bubbler to the tank to keep O2 going, but I am concerned that the time needed to cure would be no bueno for the fish. No corals yet, and the only inverts are pods and snails right now.

As long as water movement is available your livestock will be fine. You can turn on your powerheads, just not your return pumps. If you have any spare powerheads I would toss one in the sump just to keep it moving down there as well. And if you have a spare heater toss it up top to keep everyone warm.

No powerheads. My return was providing all of my flow. I'll move my heaters to keep everyone toasty.

Agree with @Flippers4pups 10 to 12 hours. Is where you put the silicone going to come to contact with wat er t or is it out of water?

OK. Looks like I have my work cut out for me today. I have a heater in the tank, and one in the trashcan where I had to put water to lower the level enough to work in the tank. I have a single bubbler in the tank as well, I'll see what other bubblers I can find to use. Looks like I'll be revisiting this at around 2000 tonight. Thanks everyone!

Tank is still as ugly as can be, but this is all part of it establishing itself. The snails are doing their thing, and are cleaning pretty well, but slowly because they're snails. Programmed up a cool macro into my reef-pi that shuts stuff down in a particular order, and turns them on in a particular order after certain amounts of time. This macro is for me to feed the fish. I'm sure I'll have to modify it once I get corals and nems. All in all, things are coming along just fine.

Did some rescaping. Moved a couple of rocks from the DT into the sump. The tank looked cluttered with the rocks in the DT. Hopefully pods make themselves at home in the rocks I just moved. And yes, I know i need to clean the glass again.

Ran into a couple of amazing employees at one of the LFS' today. I was in their shop last night dealing with the owner, who I had no idea was the owner as he was a young dude, so kudos to him for his investment. Either way, I picked up a few gobies for my tank, including a clown goby. Clown gobies come from Okinawa Japan, and my wife if Okinawan, so it was important that I had something from home in my reef for her. 1 hour float, and a 40 minute drip, and in he goes with his buddies. Woke up this morning to the little guy on his side, dead. Not gonna lie, that made me sad. So i contact the LFS on FB via the messenger, and one of the two young employees respond to me. I explained what had happened and asked if they would help me out because I know that sales are final in most spots when it comes to reef fish, so I was just asking and not expecting, but they hooked me up and gave me $20 in store credit. So I head up there with the water samples they requested looking for maybe a fire shrimp or something along those lines and walked right into a weekend flash sale. Corals and fish, buy 2, get one free, and as I said, these employees were amazing because one of them talked me into getting a zoa frag and a couple of yuma bounce frags. I also picked up some dip that was set to expire this month, so I got that for 50% off as well. Now, I had no intentions on leaving with any corals, but he explained that sofies are pretty forgiving. So, they've been dipped, and are in the DT. Here they are.

TL;DR: picked up a fish from LFS last night that died. Store hooked me up with store credit. Ended up leaving with my first corals, and a bottle of nearly expired coral dip for 50% off.

Lighting question here. 4 bulb T5 fixture. Current bulbs are the Aquatic Life equivalents to ATI 2 blue plus, 1 purple plus and a aquablue special (maybe). I need to cool the look of the tank, and shift it more to blue a bit. I'm proposing 1 ATI Coral Plus, 2 ATI Blue Plus, and either an ATI Purple Plus, or ATI True Actinic. I want my corals to grow, but I also would like them to glow. I believe I need a purple, or actinic for the POP, yes?
