I'd like to make a diluted iodide solution, can I mix 25ml of Seachem Reef Iodide and 25ml of RODI to make a 50% strength solution? Or does the iodide oxidize as soon as it's mixed with RODI?

That dilution is likely ok. I’d be concerned about big dilution, such as into an ATO reservoir.

Thanks Randy, the plan is to store the diluted iodide in a dropper bottle and administer via drops.

Sounds like a fine plan. :)

Curious why you want to dilute it.
Small tank, only around 25 gallons of water volume. The dosing instructions I've seen were to start with 1-2 drops per 100 gallons, so I want to dilute just to be safe.

Makes sense! i only dose the redsea version once every couple of weeks in the size tank. It’s probably not as good as dosing a little bit every day but since I only measure once in a while with ICP I don’t know any better. My corals don’t seem to know the difference , but I keep doing it because I have it.

Is it because of a bacterial bloom? Is that the reason against large dilutions?

Water holds a certain amount of oxygen that can convert iodide into iodate, which is less readily bioavailable. The more you dilute the product in water, the more oxygen there is waiting to oxidize each iodide ion.

Any other elements that will do this? Concerned about 1 gallon "master solutions" is 1 gallon too much? Any specific numbers so I can figure it out at x strength for example?

Some other trace elements might, if not chelated. Iron, for example, can become less soluble.
