Dipping coral on rock

I have read about using Bayer, coral rx, and the new post on the me dip. Question if I receive corals on live rock. How do you go about dipping? I'm sure the live rock absorbs the dip? And do not want to get Bayer or coral rx in tank I imagine. What is the protocol when it's on rock? I think just taking Lps or sps of rock would be a easy solution. But mainly towards shrooms and etc that can be a pita to get off or out of nooks and crannys.

If removal from the rock is not a choice then dip the whole rock. Bringing rock into the system has significant risks even if you dip it since it could contain eggs that would not be killed by the dip. The same goes for pest algae that might inhabit the rock. For this same reason, many aquarists will not even allow alien frag plugs into their aquarium.

If dipping the whole rock you would need to make sure all the dip is rinsed out of the pores of the rock so it doesn't get into your display.

My recommendation would be use use a chisel to break up the rock and hope you can frag off the shrooms on a smaller piece.
