update: ***** ich.

dont really have a game plan yet

QT and treat with Copper (cheleted)at 1.75 ppm, use a Hanna checker if you can to maintain levels, leave DT fallow for 76 days. Can you upload a pic of the spots? Just to make sure it’s ich and not velvet.

It is velvet, not ich!

All the shipped fish have died except the trigger (covered in velvet sores). Only one of my display fish is sick covered in sores and everybody else looks aka

Is this something that will pass or does my tank need to be fallow for awhiel?

Tank needs to be fallow for 6 weeks, can you post a pic of the trigger? The treatment is the same, copper at 1.75ppm (copper power)

Do you mean red bloody type lesions? Velvet typically doesn’t produce sores at initial onset only after a secondary infection sets in. I’d like to see the sores to make sure it’s not Uronema.

I just took a video but it won’t upload. I’ll try to get a good pic!

One of the puffers has red sores upon death but they are tossed

From the pics I would say you are dealing with velvet. Do you have copper on hand? If so (Copper Power) ramp it up to 1.75ppm over the next 12-24 hours. That’s a little fast but velvet is a quick killer, if your using cuperamine bring it up to .5. You’re going to need to work quickly. What do you have on hand copper wise and other meds? Do you have a Hanna checker or how will you test for copper?

Last Update: Everybody has died except for my pair of cheap occ. clowns, which amazingly, seem unaffected.

I moved them into my little frag tank and am now leaving the tank fallow until safe to reintroduce fish, which will be quarantined this time.

During this time I will introduce all the corals from my little frag tank and hopefully have a nice little reef 3 months from now.

Thank you all
