Diy algae reactor

Hey everyone I'm building an algae reactor. None of the home improvement stores in my area carry the red/blue led tape light. Could I use the color changing stuff and just hit it with blue and red alternating??

Generally those don’t have enough watt per LED to sustain macro algae growth

Well that's just it I want it now ;) lol was just curious and as far as light output couldnt I just wrap the reactor with tighter coils? More coils equals more LEDs which means more light out put.

Im planning on using ulva... Would regular warm white work instead?
