Hello everyone,

I'm building an LED strip light,

15 LEDs x 3 rows

but I'm having trouble with the color arrangement!

I'm going to use 15 warm white, 15 natural white, 6 red, 4 or 5 blue, and 4 green

is this arrangement is good ?

I prefer more blue in my spectrum but that's all a personal choice.

You're going to have a lot of white.

Quick question - are you running all LEDs through one fader or multiple faders?

Ohhh... This is a saltwater aquarium forum so I was thinking you were trying for a saltwater reef LED.

Freshwater planted is best to shoot for around the 5700k to 7500k - natural is 6700k.

For a planted tank I'd eliminate the blues. I agree with @tbrown on the Kelvin numbers for plants. Unless you are doing glow fish or certain other fish and you want to enhance those colors. The blue will be heading the spectrum closer to 10000K ect. Maybe use more whites depending on where the manufacturer rates their spectrum at.

There are any number of ways you can go with your idea.

If you are so inclined, below is a link to an app that another R2R member created for controlling DIY LED lighting. Depending on your level of understanding, it could be well worth your time to give it a read.

Also, there are other sites that are dedicated to planted freshwater tanks and you could probably get some useful suggestions/advice on those. One such site is in the link below.

BTW - Welcome to R2R!
