Can a mini fridge with stainless steel coil serve as a chiller for a 170g tank? I Live in Puerto Rico so its always HOT, my tank can easily get to 88 degrees + without my ac on but the electric bill is killing me but a chiller its as expensive in my bill as just leaving my ac on.

I would guess no. I say that because of "experiments" people have done for cooling PC's. Long story short it did not work to cool the PCs as the refrigerator is meant to get things down to a temperature and keep them their, but when cooling a PC (or aquarium) you are constantly dumping heat into the refrigerator.

No. Mini fridge doesn’t have anywhere near the BTU necessary.
