Hi everyone,
I'm currently using an old oceanic 20g sump that only has two compartments. One for the return pump and the other for everything else (this includes my skimmer, heater, some live rock, and carbon). I was thinking of trying to set up a refugium to grow some macroalgae with a floating pond plant basket, perhaps one that is black to prevent excess light spill over.

I've read some threads with this type of setup and I was wondering if anyone could weigh in how they liked it and if they ran into any issues.

Cheers

Did something similar. The issue - was algae from the basket/area - getting into the tank
