Yes I have 3/4 ply on bottom with 2x4 supporting. I wanted as much weight distribution as possible. Not just around the perimeter.

On top of those 2x4s sits a piece of 1/2 ply, then 1/2” foam and then the sump. I wanted the sump raised off the bottom

The whole bottom is caulked and sealed so if there is a leak it will hold nearly 60g of water. Also having the ability to shop vac out any spills and run a fan to dry everything.

The same pattern/spacing is done on the top braces with 2x6s with 3/4 ply on top. Then 1/2” foam and then acrylic tank.

I built the stand tall. 40” tall, 24” tall tank. So top of tank sits at 5’4”.

It’s a pain to work on because I am only 5’5” and need a step ladder to basicly lay on top to reach the back corner of the tank

Lookis like you put plywood at the bottom of the stand then the 2x4s over it.

I also supported the bottom with 2x4 and 3/4” ply because I initially planned to set it on 1” high density foam. The floors in my house are no where near flat, they are level across the floor but they are original to this portion of the house built in 1890. Was going to place foam under it to help distribute the weight across everything but wound up getting impatient when I had forgotten to buy the foam and didn’t want to spend 2.5 hours round trip driving to the local homedepot. So I just placed it and started filling

I have a marine and dual over flow 125 gallon reef ready tank. With a 50 gallon sump I'll be adding my 12 gallon lifereef refugium and plumbing it a little differently than what it is now.
