My Jebao 6000 pump started to produce a terrible noise. I cleaned it but it didn't make any change. I need to buy dead silent return pump. Any suggestions? It must be able to pump about 6000 liters (1590 gallons) / hour up to 2,4m.

Have you ever lost your motivation to maintance the tank? I just fill up the replecament water tank and the ballings and clean the glasses. Thats all. I'm going to sell/give away some of the fishes and just leave the smallest one there. I totally lost my intrests to keep the fishes in my tank. Only the corals and the invertebrates motivates me anymore. I also might starting to do somethig else. I don't know...

very nice tank!

What are you keeping your parameters at?

If you mean the water parameters, I bought the laboratory test from TritonLab. I sent some water to laboratory and they sent me the testresults. PO4 was high and Ca was too low. All the other 30 parameters were in the green zone. I made some changes and I believe the water is better now. Time will tell. I will do the lab test again later this year.

Finally I win the battle against Cyano. The led lights makes the sand/gravel little bit purple in the iPad pictures. It seems that if you just leave the tank alone, it will find the biological balance.

Congrats on winning the battle!

What are your alk and calc?
Thats a good question. I have no idea. About 2 months ago KH was 7 and Ca only 250. I started to dose 100ml more Ca daily so I believe it's better now. I also raised KH dosing just a little bit, so hopefully it's now closed to 8. I'm planning to buy the water tests :D

I also had lack of Mg, K, Sr,B,I, Br and S. Also I neef to do finetuning to Ni and Zn.

That TritonLab water analysis cost only 35€ and they check 36 different substances in their laboratory.

I done some harvesting today. Green montipora, brown/blue acropora and lots of frags moved to backyard. Water movement is so much better and now there are two piles of corals. This is great

Day before yesterday I was trying to catch my Canthigaster valentini. During that other pile of stones collapsed and I lose some acros. Well I got the fish, but what a show. Yesterday I saw that the water temperature was raising to 30 decrees celcius. Today It was still raising so I started to search the reason. I found a water warmer in the sump that was set to 25 but it was on all the time. Some corals bleaching now. So excuseme I will go to burn the money in the fireplace. Equal costs but less stress

Some tank shots after the disaster. It seems that most of the corals survived. Still the cyano is back and some corals are brown. I hope that they will get their colors back

It took over a month to get water parameters where I wanted. First time in this tank history the Ca is 420. Usually it has been in 290- 300. I had to dose quite a lot to get it there and that causes the salinity problem. I have a great difficulty to keep it under 37. My skimmer is skimming a wet stuff but still it's not enough. Today I was able to reduce CA dosing to 850 from 999. I hope it's enough to keep it on target and helps on that salinity problem.

Wow. What a great tank and pictures.
Amazing how it matured and got better looking with each update.
Hard to believe you did not measure Ca and Alk on a weekly basis a while ago.
Congratulations
