Do you necessarily mind your scratches? I actually have some pretty bad ones near the bottom of mine. The funny thing is even though they're clear as day I don't mind them. Granted when I hear one potentially happen it's never a good thing, that said even though I could get a new one I just don't want to. Anyone else in this camp?

Never liked them, so been using acrylic since 1988… problem solved!
My 90 was acrylic. Man I could sand that thing so smooth it literally looked invisible with water in it. That tank was a pain as it was tall and skinny.. but scratch removal even with water in isn't even hard with acrylic.

What process did you use to remove scratches while running the tank?

I personally find it a huge eyesore depending on the location and size of the scratch. I luckily don’t have any scratches on my tank so far, at least to my knowledge, knock on wood!

there's 1 or 2 on the inside of the glass to the front glass of my 40B. somehow a piece of sand got under the plate that was big enough to scratch. can't see it unless you're up against the glass about 1-3 inches away. drives me nuts..

Hate them. Try very, very hard to avoid any possibility of causing one.
My wife knows that nobody cleans the glass but me. Period. Because god help you if you're the one who scratches it. :)

I did polish a scratch out of the front glass of a tank years ago, but it was a massive pain.

They drive me nuts. I have a few that are tempting me to swap out the tank for a new one.
I agree, even the smallest tiniest scratch drives me insane
I have approximately another year or so before I decide on a new tank

WOW..
The silicone holding the tank doesn't go bad ?
I heard it last around 10 to 15 years, yours must be at least 900 years old
Tank is at least 32 years old, I bought it used so I don't know exact age
